วันอาสาฬหบูชา วันเข้าพรรษา | Asalha Puja and Beginning of the Rains Retreat 10-11 July 2025

Asalha Puja, the full moon day of the 8th lunar month, commemorates the first sermon of the Buddha, the Dhammacakkapavatana Sutta or Discourse on Turning the Wheel of Dhamma. This marks a significant milestone in Buddhist history where another human being, Venerable Kondanna, saw the Dhamma for himself, and ordained as a monk. It was on this day that the Triple Gem; the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha, was complete.

The following day marks the beginning of the Monsoon or Rain Season in South and South-East Asia, which is a time for monks to restrict their travel for 3 months in order to learn and practice the Dhamma more vigorously.

We invite you to mark these important occasions with us in the morning and evening. Details in poster above.
